'Though many of their peers rely on a more rock-based approach, Shades of Dust make known their love for a no-bullshit form of grooving metal, yet still expertly craft highly-infectious melody into their sound...'

'Backed by a thick production that compliments their sound perfectly, Shades of Dust really do shine through on this album ...'

'... 'No Paths To Comfort' has enough superior features to place Shades of Dust alongside the likes of Japunga and Jerk in the current metal scene of this country, if only given the right promotion. Expect big things.'

"Local four-piece Shades Of Dust churn out riff-heavy hard rock… with a difference. Vocalist Tegh Kalsi brings a unique slant to the band’s work, as guitarist Nate Dust explains.

"Our lyrical content is strongly based on Tegh’s experiences and observations in his homeland of Kenya. There’s obviously a lot of things that take place over there that most people here couldn’t comprehend.”
With debut album No Paths To Comfort recently released, Kalsi goes on to further reveal the songs’ influences."

"First up were Shades Of Dust, this was their first ever live show and these boys started the night off on a high note. Not being intimidated, they got the crowd moving with their intense brand of groove metal. The vocalist has one of the best growls I've heard in a long time and a not so bad singing voice to back things up. It took the lads a few songs to really look comfortable and once settled in they impressed all who attended. With influences (I believe to be) Drowning Pool, Disturbed and Godsmack these guys had people talking... a band to look for in future!"
